First post in a long while.  Just got back from vacation.  Been solidly working for 5 months.  Near 100 hour weeks.  Pretty insane, yeah I know.

It doesn't snow much in Manhattan, but when it does it is beautiful.  Winter in the city . . . not nearly as bad as people said it would be.  Plus, it makes for nice trips to central park.

Anyhow I won't talk about work . . . people who don't work on Wall Street probably won't care, and people who do work on Wall Street get enough of it at work.

I did come to the realization that I'm starting to hit my mid 20s.  Scary thought.

Alright, well I'm tired and need to get up in 6 hours to go to work.  More writing later.

Someone in my analyst class (female) said it's weird for guys to have a xanga.  I don't understand the criticism . . . isn't it supposed to show a sensitive side?  Like having stuffed animals, or reading poetry, or cuddling?

Anyhow, training is over.  Finished one series exam, one more on Monday, and then the working life begins.  Training has been at times fun, at times boring, but all in all, it's great to get paid to learn.  Also tested out some of the offerings in NYC . . . I'm a looong way from home in sunny california.

Money burns quickly here.  Now I understand why you have to make a good sum of money to live in Manhattan.  I think I'm going to have to stop eating out all the time, my Citibank account is looking like it needs a revolving line of credit.

Anyhow, people in my analyst class are pretty cool.  Very type A, very competitive, but I guess that's expected.  It's different coming from a different firm and trying to mix in with the people who spent last summer at Morgan Stanley, but I guess it's going along alright.

My newfound goal is to again get into shape.  After stopping tkd practice, I've begun to get horribly out of shape.  Time to change that (don't want the ibanker gut).

Alright, well back to studying for the series 63.  This is my second of three licensing exams.  I know, what a boring life I lead.  Actually, it's not that boring, but I'm not gonna post it all here for the world to read.  If you really want to know about the cool stuff going on, gimme a call.  I like talking better than writing anyway . . .

Life has been great.  I just spent the last quarter relaxing.  Got back from Vegas a few days ago, had a huge BBQ, and am leaving for Maui on Sunday.  With all these vacationing, it'll be a miracle if I can finish all that online training for work.

My computer has been acting up.  The DVD player broke.  I think it is time to reformat my drive.

In other news, we have found an apt. in New York.  It's in the West Village, a rich hipster area.  The rent is more than I'd like to pay, but hey, after struggling for a week and a half to find something, it's nice to be done.

More updates later.

I know what few loyal readers I have probably missed me.

I spent last week doing absolutely nothing.  My college buddy came back from New York.  This is what we did:

Saturday: Clubbing; Sunday: Resident Evil 4; Monday: Giants game; Tuesday-Wednesday: Resident Evil 4; Thursday-Sat.: Blockbuster all you can rent pass

This week has been uneventful as well.  Went home on Tuesday to get my eyes checked out.  Now I'm still doing nothing.

I love food.  Eating, cooking, thinking about eating, thinking about cooking, watching the Food channel.

I think I have an unhealthy obsession.  Sometimes, when I'm at home and my mom sees me watching Food TV, she tells me to stop.

Forget Wall Street, I should be a chef.

I actually did a little reading today.  Trying to keep my brain a little fresh.  Booked my tickets to NY for desk placement and apartment hunting.  I'm heading home tomorrow to spend some time with the family.  Then, I'm picking up an old college buddy on Saturday and coming back to Stanford for a week of fun.

I also noticed that I spend a ton of time on the internet.  Reading people's xangas, talking on AIM, etc.

Alright, I'm tired of writing in this xanga for now.
